The name Darjeeling is a composition of ‘dorje’ meaning ‘thunderbolt’ and ‘ling’ meaning ‘place’ ie. the land of Thunderbolt. Popularly known as the ‘Queen of Hills’, Darjeeling produces the famous Darjeeling Tea, one of the world's finest teas. It is also home to the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a World heritage Site.
